Kind of crazy if you ask me. In all due respect, getting rid of the established Gov't and forming a new one will do what ?? Human nature is human nature and you know what will happen ?? Just another tyrannical type human being in the NEW gov't will fill the void to take charge and Corruptness will be perpetuated. That's the way humans are !! This type of Utopian thinking is delusional imho .Sorry, I know that may rub some the wrong way but I believe this to be the Truth. Don't abolish the established infrastructure . Build Coalitions to work in getting people elected who will bust their butts off in getting the way you want the current Gov't to work.
I can actually understand the logic in their decision. When you have a state as large as California with a high population density in only a few concentrated urban centers, it's easy for the legislators to be out of touch with the needs of the citizens in the rest of the state. It's kinda like New York, which is only 17 miles above where I live. The vast majority of the state is rural farm land with a few pockets of highly concentrated urban centers. The vast majority of the citizens outside of New York City are wildly underrepresented when it comes to laws which cater primarily to the needs of the urban centers, but make absolutely no sense in regard to serving the needs of those people who live in the rest of the state.

Nevada has the same problem with Clark Co. wrecking the rest of the state.
