The reason the United States does not have a voter ID (or require ID to vote) is because it is much harder to commit voter fraud.
Seriously, it make no sense. In the United States you are required to show ID to buy alcohol, pick up your prescription, make a bank transaction, travel by plane, travel by ship, and more.
