WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SPRINT AND T-MOBILE MERGER ⚠️⚠️📱📱
Sprint and T-mobile Finally Merge After Years of Discussion
What Does This Mean For Users?
Coverage
The combination of both the networks would give a huge advantage to users increased and faster data coverage. According to newsroom.t-mobile.com, "the New T-Mobile will have the network capacity to rapidly create a nationwide 5G network with the breadth and depth needed to enable U.S firms and entrepreneurs to continue to lead the world in the coming 5G era, as U.S companies did in 4G"(T-Mobile Newsroom 2018).
This merger would give T-moile the powerful ability to make a great change in the industries of wireless, video, and broadband. This merger is great for the preparation in the 5G era which T-mobile's goal is to be the leader in offering 5G network to US businesses. T-mobile plans to offer nationwide LTE faster than Verizon and AT&T.
According to newsroom.t-mobile, "the combined company will have lower costs, greater economies of scale and the resources to provide U.S consumers and businesses with lower prices, better quality, unmatched value, and greater competition"(T-Mobile Newsroom 2018).
What happens to At&T and Verizon!
This merger by T-mobile will overall hurt competition as they will have to play catch up and make investments to compete with T-mobile.
Job Growth
This merger will increase the amount of job growth throughout the United States. According to www.newsroom.t-mobile.com, "From the first day Sprint and T-Mobile combine and every company thereafter, the new company will employ more people in the U.S than both companies would separately"(T-Mobile Newsroom 2018). T-mobile claims that over 200,000 workers will be employed in the beginning stages of the acquisition. Nearly 40 billion would be invested in the networks in the preliminary stages. Just for the 5G network alone is supposed to create numerous amount of jobs. According to T-mobile newsroom. 3 million new jobs will be created for the 5G network which accumulates to a 500 billion economic growth until 2024.
Sprint Stock
As a Sprint user, I am highly excited for this acquisition! I believe Sprint coverage can be awful at times and I think it's great that the coverage is now larger. I am also excited for the 5G network that is being implemented by T-mobile and their plans to make it extremely powerful.
Any sprint users or non-sprint users, I would love to hear your thoughts on this acquisition.
