Are we really that naive or just stupid

It is amazing to me that we allow mainstream media to decide what is fake. Social media outlets do not or should not have any say in what is or isn't allowed to be posted on their sites. If in fact incorrect information is posted let the parties involved correct the information. I do believe that it is not a place to deface or devalue any individual or item without substantial evidence, but what I have been seeing about removing posting with fake news is absurd. It seems to me the real news is overtaking the mainstream bullshit and they are scared. Private corporations like Facebook and Google can control their companies anyway they want, but the citizens should pay attention to that. We need to look at all sources for valid information regarding what is real news and what is fake. It is our decision to decide that, if we pay attention to the details these corporations will have no followers and the "real" ones will overwhelming win with truth.

It is our responsibility as a society to decide what we believe to be real and what is fake. We need now more than ever to pay attention to the details of what is going on. Our rights as human beings are being abolished and the only thing we know is what the Kardashians are doing next. Wow! Open your eyes America.

So true!! I quit watching mainstream media years ago. Researching deeply is the only way to come close to the truth and start to figure out who we can actually trust. Often we will not be able to find the complete truth, but we can easily see who is not being truthful. (examples: JFK Assassination or 911)

I think it is even more important to learn what is moral and what is not. We should ask ourselves many questions, such as :

  1. When is violence justified?
  2. Is taxation theft?
  3. Is it ok to kill people in another country, who you know nothing about, just because your government told you they are your enemy?

We don't get to decide what is real and what is not. What is real is real and what is not is not.

Maybe you meant that it is our responsibility to figure out what is real and what is not.

Social media "censors" are the reason for the increasing popularity of sites such as steem and Gab.ai (where I've been going quite a bit lately. It is social media that has become the last bastion of freedom of thought and expression.

Yes I agree and they are working hard to take that
