"For a donor who has a bitcoin or ethereum account, swapping the crypto currency inside, for example, a pound or a dollar, can be inconvenient," said Lukasz Musial, a blockchain consultant who helped the mosque prepare bitcoin technology.

"For donors, it only takes the click of a transfer button to the account provided by the charity.From the view of the mosque, it opens a stream of new donation funds from around the world," Musial added commenting on bitcoin.

Some scholars, such as the Grand Mufti of Egypt, say that bitcoin is not permitted under Islamic law.

However, Abdalla Adeyemi, imam of Shacklewell Mosque, defended the decision to make bitcoin as an alternative to charity and charity.
