I feel like the point of PFT getting to Standing Rock and documenting everything that is transpiring is to disseminate the information as broadly and freely as possible. The notion of exclusivity just does not feel appropriate in this context.

Well it's up to him. I don't see the issue so black & white. You can simultaneously release broad & free information while retaining additional exclusive information for a specific audience willing to pay extra for that exclusivity. #freemarketcapitalism

This way, @pressfortruth can expand his revenue stream & grow his business.

Point taken, and I certainly am not opposed to those who want to pay extra for exclusive information. I guess my feelings are just based on this specific situation. I am so saddened by what is happening there and the lack of comprehensive media coverage and I think it is so important for as much information as possible to be shared. It just feels like an issue that is posing serious questions around basic human rights and decency and the direction of our collective humanity.

What's beautiful about Steem is that we're not "paying extra" for that content, and @pressfortruth will still earn extra for retaining exclusivity.

I understand... This is a period of great awakening. Stay optimistic & capitalize on ethical opportunities to enhance our collective well being. Here's a cool gif I just found :D

Thanks @cardiff. Filling buckets as best I can!

Moreso, hidden from our eyes here.

There are of course huge abuses against the protesters.

However, from what I read the heart of the protest has nothing to do with whatever ancestral rights Sioux are claiming. The builder of the pipeline has met with numerous tribes of the area, and the construction doesn't even cross their reservations.

As for the defense of water: it's just another episode of the tragedy of the commons. Considering the thousands (millions?) of miles of pipelines in this country, we would logically have no drinking water left.

I too would like to know more about what is really happening. This whole thing smells fishy.

I can add that I know of "meetings with tribes of the area" and these are usually on the order of "they" met with the "elders" and then went on their way. They being govern-cement and psuedo govern-cement agents. Elders being those who hold the purse strings of the tribe. (you know, the ones who are bribed the most). The usual thing is that any one tribe member has never heard of it, and they believe that the govern-cement is just going to do whatever they are going to do anyway.

Please pack extra warm (in layers), and pack in with as much food as you can carry.

I don't know how Native affairs work in the US, but in Canada that would (unfortunately) be the way to go. Government monies go to them, and they often waste it on themselves rather than help their struggling communities. So much potential is wasted because they are put in these cages...

Native affairs in The U.S. is so bad that, several tribes took BIA to court.
The American Indian Trust Fund is missing billion of dollars collected on royalties and leases (mining, grazing...) paid to the trustees overseeing Indian affairs.

A group of Indian tribes took the Bureau of Indian Affairs to court demanding to know where the money had gone.

The United States Federal Appellate Court ruled that the Indians had no right to look at the books BIA kept on the American Indian Trust Fund.

So, the Indians settled on a agreement with The U.S. govern-cement for pennies on the dollar. The U.S. govern-cement still has not paid them (at least not as of 2014)

Darryl Schoon talks of this:

I still blows my mind the Mainstream Media is not covering such a timely event. Crazy how controlled news is. I have friends there now and some of them have been arrested.

Upvoted followed and resteemed!!!
