The war on cash...some thoughts.

in #news7 years ago (edited)

The Elite of the West have been pushing the idea of a cashless society for quite some time now, they say that it will cut down on crime and terrorism because everyone will be tracked and society will be much safer.  As Joseph P Farrell writes in Cashlessness, Cyber-Security, AI and Insanity, the only thing that a move to a cashless society will mean is that the criminals will continue to hide their criminal activity, the banksters will continue to profit from that crime, and everyone else is reduced to corporate serfdom. And what is more, they are more vulnerable to cyber-attacks, because everything is in the cloud.

As Martin Armstrong writes in Cyberattacks and the Vulnerability of a Cashless Society  the WannaCry ransom attack highlighted the problem of government's asking (that is, demanding) back doors be written into smart phones and computers because these backdoors allow access to others such as hackers, other Nation State's, and nefarious corporations as well.

Not only that, bank customers are trapped or rather locked into a bank account and will have no choice but to pay negative interest rates if they occur (see Denmark, Japan, Switzerland and Sweden for example) and run the risk of having their entire account requisitioned by the bank in a bailout or by the Government itself (and that isn't so far fetched).

However, more than that, as James Corbett writes, what would happen if you were excluded from participating in the system because of non-compliance to the State's or Bank's requirements or some such? A cashless society means that the Banks and Governments have total control over how, if and when you spend 'your' (ie. their) money, and moreover, you are vulnerable to cyber-attacks and hacking.

All in all going cashless might seem convenient and benign, but it is far from that, it is another method of control and represents asset transferal from the consumer to the Banks and/or State and the establishment of a serf class.

very interesting article. i would be scared if t he government was in charge of any new currencies. and digital is way easy for them to access

You make an excellent point, once everything is digital, you are vulnerable to nefarious government and bankster actions.

I agree that the dangers are being hacked, as we have seen with recent "techified" things, and them having complete tracking control of every penny.

Not sure about the establishment of a serf class, afaic, its already here, actually I think its been here since before written history.

You make a good point, arguably there has always been a serf class...

I do worry about the extra control that government/corporate agencies will have with electronic money. Although I am also sure that people, as always, find a way round.

Ah,. that's where cryptocurrency, precious metals and etc come in! :)
