Transgender woman forced to serve jail sentence in male prison

Dmitry Kozhukhov or Alina davis as she is now known, 25, is a Russian transgender woman has been forced to spend her time behind bars in a men’s prison.

Dmitry Kozhukhov's plea to serve in a women's prison or a single was rejected by the authorities because she is still registered and ‘physically’ a man.

The transgender is to serve a two month sentence for driving with a fake licence in a male prison.
According to a police spokesman:

Kozhukov aka Davis is a man according to his documents and as a result he was sent to a male prison.

Davis is currently sharing the jail cell with four male prisoners in the city of Egorievsk in western Russia’s Moscow region.

David had once been arrested over drugs charges but skipped jail term because the police could not work out which type of cell to give her, but now after the second offence they have acted and told her she will go to a male prison.
