သတင်းပေါက်ကြားမှုတစ်ခုအရ Apple သည် ၎င်း၏ Mac ကွန်ပျူတာများကို Intel CPU များ ဆက်သုံးတော့မည်မဟုတ်ဟု သိရသည်။ သို့သော် AMD CPU များ ပြောင်းသုံးမည်ဟု ရည်ညွွှန်းခြင်းမဟုတ်ဘဲ Apple ကိုယ်တိုင်ထုတ်လုပ်သည့် CPU များကို သုံးသွားမည်ဟု ဆိုခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။ Apple ၏ ကွန်ပျူတာသုံး CPU များကို Kalamata ဟု cods name ပေးထားပြီး ယခုအခါ စတင်စမ်းသပ်ခါစသာရှိသေးကြောင်း သိရသည်။ သို့တိုင် များစွာစောင့်ဆိုင်းကြရမည်မဟုတ်ဘဲ ပထမဆုံးကွန်ပျူတာကို 2020 တွင် စတင်မြင်တွေ့ကြရမည်ဟု ဆိုသည်။ Apple အနေဖြင့် ထို့ထက်နှောင့်နှေးနိုင်သေးသည်ဟု ယူဆထားကြသည်။ 2005 တွင် Apple ကွန်ပျူတာများသည် Power PC မှ Intel CPU သို့ ကူးပြောင်းခဲ့ပြီး ထိုကာလမှစကာ Intel CPU များကိုသာ ဆက်တိုက်ဆိုသလို သုံးခဲ့ကြသည်။ လွန်ခဲ့သောတစ်နှစ်က Apple သည် mobile device GPU များအတွက် Imagination Tech အား အားကိုးနေရခြင်းမှ ရပ်ဆိုင်းခဲ့ပြီး ဖြစ်သည်။ ပထမဆုံး Apple CPU သည် ARM architecture အား သုံးမည်ဟု ယူဆထားကြသည်။
