The US authorities are planning to recover $ 110 million from the Russian BTC-e exchange, for violating anti-money laundering laws (AML). This was announced by the Ministry of Justice (DoJ), BTC-e, which is out of access for two days, said it intends to resume operations.

Also, Alexander Vinnik, the alleged owner of BTC-e, was detained in Greece on July 25 on charges of money laundering of $ 4 billion, and is suspected of involvement in the hacking of Mt. Gox in 2013.

    "FinCEN today assessed the BTC-e fine for deliberately violating US money laundering laws (AML) in the amount of $ 110 million," the Ministry of Justice said.
