DUP Blunder: Arlene Foster Congratulates William on His Engagement

The UK has been hit by a bout of Royal Wedding fever as Prince Harry announces his engagement to US actress Meghan Markle. This hardworking gumshoe doesn't quite understand the fuss, but there you go. Amid the flurry of fluffpieces, one news story might have escaped your attention.

Arlene Foster, the head of the DUP and the so-called 'Kingmaker' (or in this case 'Queenmaker') who has made Theresa May's tenure in Downing Street possible, has tweeted this howler:

The only issue? She congratulated the wrong prince. Prince William has been married to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge since April, 2011.

This is certainly a surprising mistake from a devout royalist like Foster. She later amended her tweet, but by then the damage was done.
