PESHAWAR A meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Epox Committee was convened in Governor House Peshawar on Tuesday, chaired by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chief Minister Mahmud Khan was also present at the meeting. The meeting reviewed the overall security situation in the province, especially in the integrated districts.

The meeting of the APEX committee reviewed the distribution and distribution of funds for various development projects in the districts involved and decided that the federal government would be contacted for the release of funds and added a local community to identify the development projects in the tribal districts.

It also decided that the capacity of law enforcement agencies to strengthen civil administration in the tribal districts will be increased while payment of compensation for the construction and maintenance of terrorism-affected homes will be ensured.

The committee also called for timely completion of ongoing development projects in the tribal districts and transparency in development projects, while the participants were also briefed on the progress of the fencing on Pak-Afghan border Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing the meeting, the Governor said that the former FATA has entered into a new historic period where development and prosperity has begun. The meeting was also attended by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood, Senior Military Leadership, Chief Secretary KP Salim Khan, IG Police Muhammad Naeem, Principal Secretary to Governor Nizamuddin, Secretary Law, Home Secretary and other relevant bodies.
