Computer Engineers Show How to Fake a Video using Artificial Intelligence!!

A team of computer engineers have found out a way as to how to make words come out of the mouth of Barack Obama in a video by using AI - Artificial Intelligence.
After fakes news in the media for a while, sounds like it's time to have fake videos

A team from University of Washington demonstrate in a new paper titled "Synthesizing Obama: Learning Lip Sync from Audio," they have made various fake videos of former President Barack Obama.

For Instance, when he discussed the Paris nightclub shooter and said *"the investigation is ongoing, but we know that the killer was an angry and disturbed individual who took in extremist information and propaganda over the Internet.""

He did say these words, but team from University of Washington were able to make it as though he said above statement in places different from where he actually did e.g. in a different room at the White House. Audio and video images could be altered to make it as though he said them at a different time.

The scientists achieved this not by cut/paste his body into different scenes, but by letting a neural network to study the video footage for hours , to see how his mouth moves. Computers could then alter his lips and distort them to have any word come out.

Though I believe this technology has been in practice for a while but as it becomes more common, get ready to see more fake videos
