These Provinces are Vulnerable to Money Politics Bawaslu Version

Chairman Bawaslu RI Abhan describes provinces that are prone to money politics. The mapping was called based on findings and reports received by Bawaslu on the moments of pilkada, pileg and pilpres before.

"Money politics is a vulnerability that occurs in many areas in the previous pilkada and also in legislative elections and the 2014 presidential election. As the basic necessities to the construction of public facilities are examples of cases of widespread election violations related to money politics," said Abhan.

This was stated by Abhan in the 'Declaration of Reject and Counter Politics of Money and Politicization of SARA for Pilkada 2018 Integrity' at Hotel Royal Kuningan, Jl Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Saturday (10/2/2018).

Abhan said there are 7 provinces with high money politics vulnerability index, namely North Sumatra (Sumut), South Sumatera (South Sumatra), Lampung, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), North Sulawesi (Sulawesi) and South Sulawesi South Sulawesi).

"The results of the election vulnerability index by Bawaslu, indicating the reporting or event of money politics practice in the region, are vulnerable in seven provinces which are conducting the election," said Abhan .

Furthermore Abhan revealed there are eight provinces that practice money politics using the mode of development of public facilities.

"The use of facilities based on mapping results, there are eight provinces, namely North Sumatra, South Sumatra, West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku and Papua, including areas with high levels of vulnerability," said Abhan.

Abhan affirmed that money politics is a common enemy because it brings the impact of corrupt government. "Money politics becomes our common enemy because this practice will create the potential for corruption in the administration of the region," he said.Source
