Myanmar military will face charges over Rohingya killings

Myanmar's military will face lawsuits related to beatings and shootings to the deaths of 10 ethnic Rohingya minority men in Myanmar's Rakhine state.

A source in the Myanmar government, which does not want to be published, said legal action was taken against military personnel involved in the murder of 10 Rohingya tribesmen in the village of Inn Din, Myanmar, in September 2017. The bodies of the 10 Rohingyas were buried in mass graves after they were beaten and shot to death by Myanmar military forces and residents from different areas of religion with the victims.

"Legal concrete steps will be taken against seven security forces, three police officers and six villagers as part of a military investigation effort," Myanmar government spokesman Zaw Htay said Sunday (11 February 2018) local time, as quoted from the website al -Jazeera.

Earlier in January, the Myanmar Armed Forces explained the killing of 10 Rohingya ethnic men as they are part of 200 terrorists, believed to have attacked a number of security forces. Some residents from neighboring territories attacked some of the terrorists with swords and Myanmar security forces fired on them to death.

Military information Myanmar contrasted with the information presented by eyewitnesses to the media. They told him there was no attack on the security forces at the Inn Din. Instead, security forces detained 10 Rohingya tribesmen among hundreds of survivors on a nearby beach.

Since August 2017, some 690,000 Rohingyas fled from the state of Rakhine and crossed southern Bangladesh when there was an attack on some security posts by rebels. This incident has sparked a split, in which the United Nations declared the possibility of a number of massacres taking place.
