USA President Donald Trump on Twitter said China had infiltrated Hillary Clinton's presidential candidate in the 2016 election, but gave no evidence or more information.

"China has infiltrated Hillary Clinton's e-mail, many of which are classified information," Trump wrote on Twitter, "The FBI and the Justice Department should be better off after all their missteps (Komi, Maccabi, Starkock, Foreign, filthy file, etc.), (otherwise) their credibility went forever! ".

"China has penetrated Hillary Clinton's e-mail server, are they sure it's not Russia (just a joke)?" Trump said last night. "This is really a very big story, a lot of confidential information!"

In Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said there was nothing new about the accusations.

"This is not the first time we hear such allegations," she told a daily newspaper.

"China is a strong defender of Internet security, we are strongly opposed and waging a campaign against any form of Internet attacks and stealing secrets," she said, without referring to Trump or Clinton.

US intelligence officials said Russia had orchestrated an electronic infiltration into information about Democratic Party officials in order to intervene in the 2016 presidential election.

Special adviser Robert Mueller is in the role of Russia in those elections and whether the Trump campaign colluded with Moscow during it. Moscow denies involvement in the elections, while Trump denied any complicity.

China and the United States are now engaged in a bitter trade war.
