President Trump: China Caught Wet

US President Donald Trump is deeply disappointed with China. This follows a report that China allows oil exports to North Korea.

In cuitan on his Twitter account, Trump says China has been 'caught out'. Trump says there will never be a friendly solution to the North Korean crisis, if oil is allowed to be exported to Pyongyang.

China earlier denied there had been a breach of UN sanctions between China and North Korea. Last week, Beijing backed a United Nations-designed resolution that includes measures to trim North Korea's gasoline imports by up to 90 percent.

Strong new sanctions are a new attempt to curb Pyongyang's controversial ballistic missile test. President Trump's latest blow against China came after South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo reported that Chinese tankers secretly transferred oil at sea to North Korean ships.

Citing South Korean government officials, Trump said shipments from ships to ships have been illegally captured by US spy satellites, about 30 times since last October.

US officials did not confirm the report, but a government department official quoted by Reuters said that the transfer could still take place. "Transfers from ship to ship, remain a concern as part of the North's measures to avoid sanctions," the official said.

China is North Korea's main trading partner who has repeatedly said it has fully imposed all UN resolutions against Pyongyang.

Responding to reports of oil ship shipments to the vessel, Defense Ministry spokesman Ren Guoqiang told reporters, "The situation you mentioned does not exist at all."

US State Department spokesman Michael Cavey, repeating the same call for all nations to cut economic ties with North Korea.

"We urge China to end all economic ties with the DPRK (North Korea), including tourism and the supply of petroleum or petroleum products," he said.
