FIRE OUTBREAK IN POGO, MINNA, NORTH CENTRAL NIGERIA
BLACK SUNDAY IN MINNA, NORTH CENTRAL NIGERIA
I was set for Church today then I met a friend my namesake Michael. We strolled together and hosted while we walk...Swiftly, a Fire Service van hurriedly passed us. I was perplex and wondered what exactly could be wrong. Little did I knew there was a Fire outbreak until some hours ago.
Pogo is a community located at Paiko Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria few kilometres away from Minna the capital city where I reside.
The community (Pogo) hosts a pipeline owned by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The Fire outbreak started at about 2am (GMT +1). I must commend the Fire service team for a prompt response at the early hours of the day.
Sadly, greed and poverty will always make people risk their lives to earn a livelihood or acquire a treasure. Lots of villagers in the community hustled through the disaster to get the Petroleum product. Some of them got injured.
You won't believe this....From about 20km away from where I reside, I could still see fumes from the sky depicting a disaster.
I am thankful to God no life was lost during the ugly scene.
