The Aceh government will control the endowment of Baitul Asyi

The Aceh government will be with the Acehnese in controlling the welfare of Baitul Asyi in Saudi Arabia. The Aceh government will also refuse any effort made if it is to transfer the management of land waqaf asyi to other parties other than nadhir waqaf.

The affirmation was submitted by the Head of the Public Relations Bureau and the Aceh Government Protocol, Mulyadi Nurdin, Lc, MH, when receiving a demonstration of demonstration participants at the Aceh governor's office on Wednesday (14/3/2018), regarding BPKH's investment plan on the land of Asyi waqaf in Mecca.

"Governor Irwandi Yusuf warned that the management of the Baitul Asyi waqaf property in Saudi Arabia should still be in line with the waqaf pledge from Habib Bugak, for the benefit of the Acehnese who are in Mecca, whether in the course of pilgrimage or studying," explained Mulyadi Nurdin.

Mulyadi Nurdin Adds that the Baitul Asyi waqaf land is not the asset of the Aceh government and is not the asset of the Government of Indonesia, but it is directly under the management of Nadhir waqaf asyi in Saudi Arabia, so in this case the Aceh Government and the Government of Indonesia will not be able to intervene.

"That the authority to manage the property of waqaf asyi in Saudi Arabia is nadhir waqaf which has been appointed, can not be diverted or replaced by anybody forever," said Mulyadi Nurdin.

He added that it has been known that during this time the investment has been developed in cooperation with some investors in Saudi Arabia, so that the Acehnese people receive the reward in the form of direct costs to the pilgrims of Aceh every year.

"Growing aspirations in Aceh related BPKH's investment plans on the land of waqaf asyi, will be submitted to nadhir waqaf asyi in Mecca," he continued.

For that, the Aceh Government called on the Acehnese not to worry about the safety of Asyi waqaf land, because the land was under the law of Islamic law applied in Saudi Arabia, which always kept and protected the land of waqaf in accordance with the Habib Bugak Asyi's contract.

In the hearing, the Aceh government was accompanied by the Head of the Islamic Sharia Office of Aceh, the Head of the Isra Israeli Bureau, the Head of the Public Relations Bureau and the Setda Aceh Protocol.
