Media: Netflix plans to launch interactive series for adults
Service Netflix intends to expand the scope of interactive narration for more programs. Judging by the available information, the service creates an adventure television series with the choice of a plot, designed for an adult audience. This is reported by Bloomberg.
Previously, the service offered such interactive series for children. So, in June of this year Netflix released an animated series Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale. He allowed viewers to influence the development of the plot and the ending. Animation series Netflix Buddy Thunderstruck also included several interactive episodes.
So far, no details have been reported about the interactive series for adults. The company has yet to find out how popular among adults will be the idea of interactive involvement in the storyline and how much the reaction of adults to interactivity is different from the child. Previously, the company did not provide information on the number of views of the series Puss in Book and Buddy Thunderstruck, so there is no information how successful these projects were.
At the moment, the plot of the story in the series of Netflix can only be managed on several platforms, including smart TVs, Roku devices and gadgets with iOS. The Web platform and Apple TV do not yet support this feature.
