The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is already investigating the attack with chemical weapons on the opposition stronghold of Duma, in which at least 42 civilians were killed on Saturday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said today that it is "inadmissible" to accuse Syria of a new chemical attack against the civilian population in that country, in a telephone conversation with the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.

"The Russian side stressed that the provocations and speculations in this regard are inadmissible," the Kremlin said in a statement.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has already begun to investigate the alleged government attack with chemical weapons against the opposition stronghold of Duma, which on Saturday at least 42 civilians had been killed and another 500 wounded.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday held the head of the Kremlin and Iran responsible for "supporting the animal of (Bachar al) Asad," while the Pentagon did not rule out military actions against Syria.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today that Russian experts did not find chemical residues in Duma.

"Our military specialists and also the Syrian representatives of the Red Crescent have already been there ... They have found no trace of the use of chlorine or the use of another chemical substance against civilians," said Lavrov. the press.

In addition, the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria has issued a statement in which the doctors at the Duma hospital said they had not admitted any sick person with symptoms of chemical poisoning.

The Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the 'white helmets', and the NGO Syrian Medical Society of America reported that forces loyal to the dictator perpetrated a chemical attack on Duma on Saturday.
