Have a look at the first comment in this post made by @juanmanuellopez1 who actually lives in a socialist country. I get messages from people in Venezuela every week telling me how much it sucks living there under socialism, not being able to eat every day.
There are many varieties of socialism and there is no single definition encapsulating all of them. Socialism is pitched to people as a system of workers owning the means of production, as in a worker-owned company, but that is disingenuous and meant to deceive people. It appears you have bought into the current hype about it if you feel so strongly that it is a good thing.
