Media Ignores Largest Gathering In Human History - 20 Million Muslims Who March Against ISIS
How can a story so big and so relevant to the world not get covered by the mainstream media? If ISIS is such a threat to world peace as our media posits ad nauseum, wouldn't it make sense to report on an event where Muslims stand in solidarity against such threats?
According to an article by Sandy Sullivan writing for Ahead Of The News, one of the largest organized marches in the history of the world recently took place where tens of millions of Shia Muslims traveled through war-stricken areas to defy ISIS.

I did a quick search on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and other mainstream media outlets to see if they covered the story and they all stood in mute solidarity. The only media that seems to be talking about it is The Independent and it only glanced at the event with faded interest.
Never mind that it is the largest gathering of human beings in recorded history. That would be a big enough story in itself to make headlines but the fact that it is Muslims standing against our sworn enemy should have the presses running overtime. But no, they will talk about the Miley Cyrus benefit concert for the victims of Manchester and the latest car bombing.
There is no doubt in my mind that our media is bought and paid for and have an agenda that this story would run counter to.
According to the Independent:
Organizers of the annual Arbaeen procession in U.K. have previously spoken of their frustration over the lack of mainstream media coverage of the event.
“Unfortunately [some] media outlets have gone for stories that to some extent can be divisive. If a group of Muslims does something good, it’s not mentioned or the religion is not mentioned. But if someone does something [negative], it is on the front page and their religion is mentioned,” Mohammed Al-Sharifi, a volunteer at last year’s event told the Independent.
And he is right.
Many of the stories on Muslims in the U.S. that make it on to the mainstream are those that stoke divide. When a Muslim hero saves hundreds of lives by jumping on a bomb which actually happened in July the mainstream and the Islamophobic alternative media is mum.
Those who would judge 1.6 billion people by the actions of just a few are creating a narrative in which innocent lives are put in danger.
Throughout history, most mainstream religions have perpetuated extreme violence upon the world. To attempt to paint Islam as the problem is no better than labeling all Catholics murders for the inquisition.
But peace and empathy are enemies to the establishment who need you to hate others. When the establishment can paint things as black and white, it is easier for you to be controlled. Consequently, this is the exact mission of ISIS.

Where is the "fair and balanced" reporting when we need it? How can something so important to bringing peace among people of different nations and religions be ignored like this? Why are we not supporting these peace loving people and instead painting them one color with the stroke of a brush?
This pisses me off to no end and it should piss you off too. What are your thoughts?

Of course it could be Snopes which is sometimes fake news. Like I said, its hard to tell. But at least one comment to the linked story in this post also came to the same conclusion. Scroll down to the comment by Dickson.
I have no idea how much of this actually happened and why it happened. All I know is that many stories have two (or more) sides to them, and different people will interpret facts in different ways. Best wishes to all!
Yes, I think that's mostly correct. From reading other sources, it is an annual pilgrimage to this holy site in Iraq for Shia muslims. Happens every year. Has nothing to do with ISIS directly. The only protest aspect is that many of the people traveled through ISIS held territory to get there.
That alone could be seen as rather inspirational or defiant, but in the end it's probably not ISIS related. Can be hard to tell sometimes.
Seems these days finding the truth in the news is a chore. No one seems to care about what is true and they are more concerned about how they feel. Political correctness and the backlash one gets for stating facts that others do not want to hear is just another form of control. In this mix of misinformation it's hard to sift through what is fact and fiction with the result of turning people against each other. Division creates a breeding ground for power hungry leaders to rule.
Regardless of why all these Muslims have gathered, it is a huge peaceful gathering and the media has chosen to ignore it.
One of the things that makes news newsworthy is when an event breaks records. The largest peaceful gathering in itself is newsworthy and the fact that they are Muslims should make it even more so. Interesting the media has chosen to ignore it.

If it comes from CNN Wapo, etc it's fake. LOL very easy to see who the liars are.
People on all sides of this issue (and other contentious issues) always complain about unfair treatment from the press, and they are usually right. Because the Press is the problem half the time. Multibillion dollar media outlets are not the free press anymore. We are the free press.

What does that exactly mean? "Recently" I shared the very same story about half a year ago on facebook and was lectured that it was a) not about ISIS and b) old news by that time. And since then this fairy tale comes up again and again
It means that the majority of Muslims are peaceful people just like the majority of and people are. It means that a small group of radicals are being used to portray a whole population of people in a misleading way and any story counter to that narrative is being ignored. Once again we are being played.
I asked what "recently" means in this made up fairy tale. It's not recently, nor is it what it is portrayed as. Fake News. Sure you're right, these terrorists are tools and weprobably don't have to go too far to find their masters. But this nice little fairy tale is FAKE.

Yes this is all controlled, I remember 35 years ago the enemy were the communists so people hated communists, now the enemy is Islam so people hate Islam. In my country there are very few muslims so there is no fear or hatred against them but the hate against communists I lived that one, and the funny thing is that since Islam is so far away in this part they still rattle the communist threat. And the thing that amazes me is that now you have someone like Putin who is a totalitarian fascist and yet he is idolized by the right as one of them and the left also likes him because they think he is a communist, because he actually was one 30 years ago.
Just today I saw a leading local preacher condemning anyone who votes for a coalition which is mostly center with a few leaning to the left as going against God, now I wonder why would a man of God have to get involved in politics?

Everyone hates the media and says they lie all the time, but everyone also thinks that when the media takes a stand they agree with, suddenly the media is telling the truth. They can't see that their first assumption is the correct one, and the only reason they are in agreement with the media on any one particular issue at the moment, is because the media's lies and propaganda of the past worked on them and convinced them to take the wrong position on the given issue today.
THe media MSM is a complete lie machine. always 100% of the time. It wasn't always this way, but this is a joke of epic proportions. COMPLETELY FAKE. They are not even reporters, they are just INFOTAINMENT.
