Spielberg triumphantly gathers Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks - The Post is a lesson on conscience and power

The Bulgarian title "Newspaper of Power" makes sense only with a question mark and a response after it - never. Because the newspaper is a "Washington Post", and the authority is the brutal administration of President Nixon.

The clash between them is in several hot weeks of 1971. It is about the right to publish the truth about the Pentagon Papers, even when the government believes this truth threatens the country's security. Catherine Graham (senior Merrill Streep) and editor-in-chief Ben Bradley (Tom Hanks) are choosing to defend the ideals of independent journalism, risking a real prison. Their solution is at the heart of today's understanding of free press and media.

At the time of "stagnation," false news and ubiquitous pressure of pressure (see Trump-CNN, let alone Bulgarian examples), Spielberg's film is a tremendous lesson on the principles of Stoicism and the assertion of democracy in its most vulnerable core - the right of information. In this case, with the proving that power all the time (four presidents and 20+ years) knew that the war in Vietnam could not be won. Still, she continued to send young men to death there.

Spielberg is unsurpassed in the ability to visualize the viewer's emotions. His approach here is opposite to the non-heterogeneous and liberated Hollywood beautification "Spotlight". The passion is resolved, all means of entertainment are harnessed. The details of the restoration and the environment are arranged so as to generate and grasp feelings, to lift the resolve to the fateful choice. The perfect entry of the central actors (for the first time together) and those of the second plan makes the path to the truth personal and experienced. Then comes the act of conscience, the machines rotate, and the title on the first page changes the story.
