US Military Success Kill 150 ISIS Members in Syria
KRICOM - The United States government continues its military operations in the Syrian region on Saturday (20/1/2018), despite undergoing a shutdown status. From the operation, the US claims to have killed at least 150 ISIS members.
According to news released by Fox News, 150 ISIS members were killed by an airstrike in eastern Syria. The area near the Syrian-Iraqi border, according to Pentagon reports, is the last area where ISIS members are hiding.
"This attack is our step to free Syria from a never-ending war," said Joint Commander Major General James Jarrad.
Jarrad also revealed that the attack could be successful thanks to the help of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) which provided intelligence related information on the position of ISIS members who started to flee from Syria.
"Our colleagues from the SDF are still struggling and sacrificing together Together we will continue to search for and kill ISIS terrorists who seek to guard the territory of their power We can not shift the focus away from our mission and must not lose momentum in expelling terrorists from battlefields, and prevent them from reappearing, "Jarrad continued.
To note, ISIS has now lost at least 98 percent of the region in Syria. They were repulsed by Syrian troops, aided by US military forces since a few years ago.
Even so, 2 percent of ISIS members are still in power in one of the cities in Syria, namely Al-Shaafah. According to intelligence reports, ISIS Great Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was hiding and protected by his loyal followers in the city.
