Hanged over embarrassment - we need to move culture away from copying TV/Movies
Another person takes their life over an embarrassment.
When people get into these situations they feel there's nobody to turn to, your parents haven't done this, so you can't turn to them. The Public tends to end up turning to what they know, which in Western Culture is what they've seen on TV shows and Movies.
...and Books, TV and Movies all go for something more sensational than reality/mundane, so they present many more than normal sensational situations that result in suicides.
Western Culture, especially teens who are still trying to understand culture, think that Books, TV and Movies must represent reality.
I think we need to have a MASSIVE enduring campaign (at a minimum, in 1/ schools and 2/ media), to inform people to seek a real person to talk to if they plan on suicide, and to ignore the largely fake/sensational people/situations in Books, TV and Movies that end up as suicide. Even letting people know it's going to cost their parents an arm and a leg to bury their kid might help them better understand the world and make a different choice.
In this instance, the case of suicide, I think it's better (the priority) to get the people of the culture educated v's creating better support services for suicide (lesser priority).
Suicide is their decision, so if you can change things so that they never come to making that decision, understanding movies etc are fake, and embarrassment isn't physical and can go away, then we can improve the mentality of the culture, and begin to move away from suicide culture we have now.
