"March for Science" with more then 600 registered cities
Thousands of scientist took to the streets today in the "March for Science". The message of the international scientific community is especially aimed at US president Trump and his ignorance of crucial matters like climate change.
Scientists demand that politics no longer ignores their findings and politicians should make laws based on scientific proofs.
For this they use slogans like "from the street into the head" or "The nice thing about facts: you can check them!"
The protests started in New Sealand with marches in Wellington, Dunedin, Queenstown, Christchurch, Palmerston North and Auckland. Other countries participating are for example Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Columbia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Island, India, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland and even Uganda.
The scientists hope that their march will create an awareness for the importance of independent science in the public.
