Konflik Gajah Belum Usai

   Sahabat stemian postingan ini saya menulis sebuah berita mengenai konservasi di aceh timur, salah satu kasus yang sedang terjadi belakangan ini yaitu konflik gajah dengan manusia yang belum usai,  berikut laporan saya.   

 Sekawanan Gajah Liar mulai menguasai hutan warga di desa Bunin kecamatan Serbajadi kecamatan Lokop,akibatnya   7 rumah  gubuk milik warga rusak parah oleh  amukan hewan  bertenaga turbo  tak hanya itu belasan hektar tanaman padi yang hampir panen turut dirusak.   

“Menindak lanjuti laporan warga, terhitung dari 27 Agustus  2017 hingga sekarang ada 7 rumah gubuk dirusak oleh gajah dan terdapat laporan beberapa lahan sawah warga juga dirusak,” kata Camat Serbajadi Ahmad kepada Rakyat Aceh, Minggu 8/10.  

 Ahmad mengatakan laporan yang diperoleh pihak kecamatan telah dilayangkan kepada Bupati Aceh Timur untuk ditindaklanjuti, sebagai upaya katanya,  pemkab Aceh Timur telah menyalurkan  bantuan cepat tanggap kepada korban konflik gajah selama ini.   “Lewat Dinas sosial dan Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah telah menyerahkan bantuan kepada korban yang telah turut di saksikan bersama tokoh gampong dan kecamatan dan korban pada Sabtu kemarin 7/10,” katanya. 

   

Selaku pihak kecamatan ia mengucapkan terimakasih kepada Pemkab Aceh Timur yang telah menerima dan bertindak langsung atas laporan yang ia sampaikan. “Kita patut apresiasi atas dukungan pemkab Aceh Timur menangani laporan warga di Serbajadi. Kita juga berharap tidak ada lagi korban baik harta dan nyawa dari  serangan gajah- gajah liar,” kata Ahmad.   

  Puluhan Gajah liar Kuasai Penaron dan Rantoe Peureulak  

 Sementara itu hingga Minggu 7/8  malam kawanan gajah liar  masih menguasai hutan kecamatan Peunaron  dan Rantoe Peureulak.  Dari laporan, hewan yang dilindungi itu telah merusak sedikitnya lima hektare lahan sawit dan pala wija lainnya milik warga.   Kepala Dusun Gunong Buloh M. Yusuf mengatakan lebih kurang ada 50 ekor gajah liar masuk dan mengamuk kedalam lahan sawit warga, bahkan beberapa lahan jagung milik  tokoh gampong itu turut diobrak- obrik.   “Kawanan gajah mulai terlihat pada jum’at lalu, sebagai upaya sementara warga terus berada hutan untuk mengusir gajah dengan peralatan seadanya. 

Namun langkah itu belum berhasil hingga Sabtu malam kawanan gajah masih bertahan dan mengamuk dalam lahan warga,” kata Yusuf.  

 Sekedar diketahui, pemerintah Kabupaten Aceh Timur telah sangat serius menangani persoalan konflik gajah selama ini, buktinya pemkab setempat telah membangun tempat penangkaran gajah Conservation Respons Unit di Desa Bunin Serbajadi. Sedikitnya empat gajah jinak telah dikerah untuk menghalau gajah- gajah liar disana, namun disinyalir setelag wewenang kehutanan dialihkan kepada pemerintah Aceh keberadaan CRU dinilai belum maksimal, ini disebabkan  mulai dari tidak suplainya pakan untuk gajah, jalan menuju ke CRU  rusak dan longsor hingga membuat mobilisasi para mahout disana pun ikut terkendala akhir- akhir ini.
