Still hopeful of implementing PPP Finance Minister

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith
will now implement the government-run private partnership (PPP) in the
United States Executive Office of the Executive Director of the World Bank in Washington, the
government will now go ahead with the implementation of the sector-based program. Development partners will also help in this regard.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said this in the light of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) annual conference in the World Bank's Executive Director's Office.
Earlier on Sunday, the finance minister joined the session titled "Rapid participation in private sector for the development of Bangladesh: PPP experience" conference. In this essay, Syed Afsar H. Uddin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PPP Authority presented the paper.
The Finance Minister said that in some years all the rules of the PPP have become legal. Whatever the media said about the PPP, the government is moving forward. PPP will be required for infrastructure development and private sector will be attracted. Just a matter of time.
In the same office on Sunday, the CEO of the PPP authorities said in the first light, "We are now heading towards the program instead of a single project. Development partners have promised to help us. '
In the article, every year, the infrastructure needs of the country's infrastructure from 350 million to 1 billion billion dollars. One sector means an umbrella. There will be many projects under a umbrella and you will have to take proper investment plan by selecting the project for long periods.
After the Awami League-led Grand Alliance government came to power in 2009, the finance minister had allocated Tk 2 billion for the development of infrastructure through PPP. Then almost the same amount of money is kept in the budget every year, but it does not cost. For the past few years, the same list is being used for the implementation of PPP, except for the two, which are not realistic. In such a situation, the implementation of the sector-based program through PPP was called in Washington.
