Fake paid application MyEtherWallet to work with Ethereum-purses came to the top of the App Store Ranking
Unofficial application-purse MyEtherWallet for iOS, which was sold in the App Store for $ 4.99, took the third place in the rating of popularity in the corresponding section "Finance".
At best, the name of the application simply coincides with the name of the popular MyEtherWallet service, which is designed to create Ethereum-purses and execute transactions. But, most likely, it is a fraudulent software designed to collect information about users' wallets. The developer of the application is Nam Le, which has nothing to do with the original MyEtherWallet service. Previously, he created two game applications for fishing and a panda warrior, but he never dealt with crypto-currency software. Note that the service MyEtherWallet does not have its own official application in the Apple App Store.
A digital purse for working with a crypto currency includes a public address to which money can be sent, and a secret key known only to the owner. The unofficial MyEtherWallet application, according to the developer's assurances, stores the keys locally on the user's device in an encrypted form.
The developers of the service MyEtherWallet said on Twitter that they are not related to this application and have already filled in the documents necessary to prevent fraud.
