Glyphosate is an analogue of the amino acid glycine. Basically it's glycine with a side chain of methyl phosphonate. When the ribosomes in our cells assemble chains of amino acids to build proteins glyophosate is sometimes used in preference to glycine because of it's strong negative charge so the proteins are mis-folded and basically faulty. Faulty proteins make sick cells which make sick organs and sick people.
