Titanic Never Sunk Swapped With Sister Ship Olympic In Insurance Scam?

in #news7 years ago

After watching the above video you may believe like me that the Titanic did not sink instead it was her virtually identical sister ship the Olympic that sunk instead.

The Titanic was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast, it was one of three Olympic class ocean liners  the other two were the RMS Britannic and the RMS Olympic.

The Titanics sister ship the Olympic was launched the year before the Titanic but seemed to share its more famous sister ship’s bad luck.

The Olympic shortly after its launch in 1911, had been involved in two serious collisions, the second of these with the Royal Navy cruiser HMS Hawke near to the Isle of Wight which caused serious structural damage to the Olympic’s keel and steel beams.

A lot of evidence has been found that the damage to the Olympic was much more serious than admitted. In fact, the evidence shows that the Olympic was virtually a write-off.

The repairs would be very expensive, probably costing millions of pounds, which was a serious amount of money in 1911. The already troubled White Star Line was facing a potential financial disaster.

JP Morgan the owner of White Star could have devised an audacious insurance scam to salvage their investment in the troubled Olympic line?

The evidence seems to point to the Olympic, being swapped with the Titanic and sunk in a staged accident. The Titanic, then swapped for the Olympic, would then carry on in service as the Olympic.

The two ships were apparently identical apart from minor differences and were moored side by side in the same dry dock;  the swap would involve nothing more elaborate that swapping a few nameplates and plaques.

The swap theory is based upon differences in the number of portholes on the two ships. The Olympic had 16 and the Titanic had 14.

Photographs of the Titanic in dock show it with 14 portholes. However by the time of its fated maiden voyage it had 16, just like the Olympic.

The evidence that the ships had been swapped is clear to me, skeptics believe that White star had added two extra portholes as part of aesthetic changes to the Titanic, what do you think?

Top picture shows 14 portholes bottom picture at time of voyage 16.

Additional evidence supporting the switch  was that  the windows on the Olympic were more unevenly spaced, not evenly spaced shown on the Titanic.

At the time of its voyage, the Titanic instead had unevenly spaced windows just like the Olympic. Was this further evidence of a switch or a revamp? you decide.

After the Olympics collision with the Hawke it had a noticeable and permanent 2˚ list to port. The undamaged (Olympic) Titanic had no such list.

Lawrence Beesley a science teacher and a passenger who survived the sinking, reported that the Titanic (Olympic) did, in fact, list to port this further supporting the switch theory.

During the work on the Titanic there was a national coal strike and work was in short supply
however the Titanic struggled to find crew, with many men refusing to work on the ship at any price.

Rumours were apparently rife amongst the workers at Harland and Wolff that the ships had been swapped for the insurance scam, and the (Olympic) Titanic was to be sunk.

The rumor's around the switch of the Titanic did frighten men off from wanting to work on the ship, further proof of a switch in my opinion?

The publicity at the time regarding the Titanic launch was massive, yet it was only just over half full when it left Southampton on its doomed voyage.

Where passenger numbers limited because White Star intended to scuttle the ship? Or because of the rumours of the insurance scam spread outside of the shipyards?

There was a lot of last minute cancellations from high profile passengers suggesting some kind of foreknowledge of what was to happen. J P Morgan the ships owner was one such cancellation at the last minute due to illness. A New York Times reporter was to establish this was a lie as J P Morgan was seen well and in company with his mistress in France on the day of the sinking.

Other prominent cancellations including Henry Clay Frick and his wife, banker Horace J. Harding and billionaire George Washington Vanderbilt that were all connected to Morgan, and several other prominent figures cancelled at the last minute as well. Coincidence or on purpose? you decide.

The SS Californian that was also owned by JP Morgan, was a large passenger ship that was blamed for the loss of life on the Titanic as it turned up for the rescue in the wrong location.

It certainly behaved strangely around the time of the Titanic’s voyage at the very least.

Was the Californian meant to rescue the Titanic’s passengers after its deliberate sinking?

Edith Russell, was a survivor of the Titanic and was adamant that Titanic staff assured her the Californian was on its way.

Author Robin Gardiner has suggested serious navigation errors leading to the Californian stopping in the wrong area - some 12 miles away from the Titanic. It’s only cargo was 3000 woolen blankets and jumpers strange cargo under the circumstances. Swop or coincidence? you decide.

The wreck of the Titanic was discovered by Robert Ballard in 1985. Evidence from the wreck supports the switch theory.

The stamp 401,  the id number used for the Titanic at Harland and Wolff, can be clearly seen on the Titanic’s propeller. However, some authors have suggested that the Titanic propeller was fitted to the Olympic during its repair following the collision with the Hawke. If this is indeed true, then this is further evidence that the vessel at the bottom of the ocean is indeed the Olympic.

Further evidence shows the letters M and P on the side of the wreck. Was this the remains of the ship's original etched nameplate -  ‘OLYMPIC’, covered over by the Titanic’s nameplate instead as part of the scam?

The wreck seems to show evidence of the grey paint used as an undercoat on the Olympic. The Titanic however used black paint as its undercoat, further evidence of a switch?

At the time of the Titanic’s sinking maritime fraud and insurance scams were common, the lack of media coverage in 1912 makes it more credible.

Only one film survives of the Titanic and the photo record is also scarce. As the two ships were extremely similar, only the most eagle-eyed observer would have spotted the swap.

After watching the above documentary and researching the "Titanic" i believe that the most likely evidence is that the boat sunk was indeed the Olympic and not the Titanic. You be the judge.
