Recent studies show that around 50% of Canadian teens stare at their phones for at least 2 hours a day. 45% of survey respondents feel cell phone companies aren't doing enough about it.
Now this could be terrible. The zombie uprising.
However, this may not actually turn out to be a bad thing.
What if people are finally breaking free from the bread and circuses. There used to be a major problem with people staring at newspapers for hours a day. Television as well. Now it's their phones which includes the internet, history's greatest tool of education!
Hollywood is losing massive viewership. Mainstream media is losing massive viewership. Sports channels and franchises like the NFL are losing massive public support and demand. This is the bread and circuses. That which brought down Rome.
While people are distracted from the chaos around them, they stay apathetic. But regardless of how right or wrong some of those rising up today are, they're mad because the distraction mechanisms aren't working anymore. The bread and circuses have failed.
So if we spread information around and promote truth and education online, we can truly impact these kids staring at their phones all day. They can surely learn more from doing so than going to public schools.
Let's make sure to mould this situation into positive results!

Absolutely true. Although I don't think there are many taking full advantage of the internet, if more people like you take the stand, there's nothing who can stop the communication/ information revolution. Cheers!

I don't understand why 45% people feel that cellphone companies should do anything about their kid holding and staring at cellphone.
Firstly kids are not exactly fools. The onus of showing them a better way lies in your hands not the cellphone company.
I also agree with rest of it. People are waking up. Their hypnosis is not going to work as good as it did before. With blockchain in the mix, things are looking even better.
Hm ... I live in Germany and I can assure you that not only half of the Canadian teens stare at their phones, the German teens do it aswell. And probably English, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Spanish, Italian and many other Country
s Kids aswell. And if one look around I´d guess that nearly all teens fumbling with phones, not only the half of them, less and less Kids dont have a phone, and on top they all dont fumble only 2 hrs a day, but more like 8 hrs a day, every day. ... And about education, ask yourself: What do you think kids prefer? Some Show about Math or some funny Vines or browser games? ... And on top of that all: Our Governments are not really interested in educated people, and in the future I think a lot of Internet-Content will be censored/gone/shut off and replaced with Infos we are allowed to know - and Bullshit for our Brains. Do you DTubers know the Movie "Idiocracy"? If not, Id like to recommend it, they show very well why the planet is dumbing down while we have all ways open to educate ourselves.it is over here in the UK too , it's like a sweeping plague , but seriously kid's should look out in the world , not in a tiny screen that is a tiny world
