Pigmalion effect

in #news8 years ago

The Pygmalion effect, in psychology and pedagogy, is one of the events that describes the belief that one person can influence the performance of another. The effect owes its name to the Greek myth of Pygmalion, a sculptor who fell in love with a statue he had carved, or alternatively, by Rosenthal-Jacobson's study. The Pygmalion effect is, therefore, something important to know and study for professionals in education, work, social and family.

The Pygmalion effect can be identified in the following ways:

An event whereby a person achieves what he previously intended because of the belief that he can achieve it.
