"Fake News" is the new term that can be frivolously thrown around to immediately dismiss a source of information if you don't agree with it. No argument required... The problem with this is, first off, we're going to assume that the "news" you're hearing is actually news. It's probably not... And this observation isn't directed at any one side of the political spectrum. Everyone is guilty.

Most information that people like to pass off as news, are actually just opinions about current events, filtered through the biased perspective of the political pundit of their choosing. That explains why if you're watching coverage of a breaking news story on FOX-NEWS, the same news story sounds completely different if you catch it on MS-NBC... It's the same fucking story, but reported through two distinctly different perspectives.

Corporate news outlets are just another example of preferred echo-chambers. People don't care if what they repeat is accurate. People just want to believe that what they say is always right. Even if it isn't... Because the power of the ego is a motherfucker...

And that's why the mainstream media is so dangerous to intellectual honesty. It doesn't afford a person the benefit of be humbled occasionally. You know, learn from your mistakes and grow into a better person as a result. It instead, retards their ability to grow and forces them to regress into emotionally charged, overgrown children who would rather stick their fingers in their ears than have an honest discussion.

Because ultimately, most people are arrogant, rude, and selfish. Most people would rather take an important issue, and exploit it in an attempt to display their own, misguided, self-importance, rather than address the issue that they claim to be concerned about with honest sincerity. And the mainstream media only helps to facilitate that exploitation by telling their viewer what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

The ability to think isn't really that hard to do... You probably just forgot how to do it...
