Indonesia kills 10 in the oil spill

In Indonesia, at least 10 people have been killed in a fuel oil well. Several injured. The accident happened on Tuesday night in Aceh province. News AFP

Authorities said a local fire broke out in the residential area of Aceh province on Tuesday morning. It destroyed three houses. It was not possible to control the fire till dawn.

Saiful, head of Runtu Periyulak area in Aceh province, said the level of fire was on the rise. It could not be put out yet.

Police said the body of at least 10 people was recovered. The number of dead people can increase. The injured were being treated at the local hospital.

In East Aceh, there are small oil mines in the province. Many times the villagers lift the oil illegally.
