Did police plant a gun on Keith Lamont Scott after realizing they killed the wrong man? Probably not... Updated: Police release dashcam footage.

in #news8 years ago (edited)

Police released the above photo as "proof" that Keith Lamont Scott had a gun and that the police shooting was justified but still refuse to release the dashcam and body camera videos.. Is it proof though?

First, we should understand the grammar and then the logic of police brutality and police enforcement officers' duties with regards to out rights.

Below are several different videos showing "evidence" being planted or rebuttals.

Police are human. They are fallible, corrupt, greedy, and are backed by other members of their gang, who own a monopoly on force. Why do we put complete faith in them and accept an "internal investigation" as good enough without real proof? Why have police not released all of the videos on the shooting?

I want to point out that Scott was an innocent man. He committed no crime. Supposedly he had a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Without seeing police videos it is hard to determine what really happened.

The impact of a moderate to severe brain injury can include:

Cognitive deficits including difficulties with: Attention, Concentration, Distractibility, Memory, Speed of Processing, Confusion, Perseveration, Impulsiveness, Language Processing, “Executive functions”

Speech and Language: Not understanding the spoken word (receptive aphasia), difficulty speaking and being understood (expressive aphasia), slurred speech, speaking very fast or very slow, problems reading, problems writing

Sensory: Difficulties with interpretation of touch, temperature, movement, limb position and fine discrimination

Perceptual: The integration or patterning of sensory impressions into psychologically meaningful data

Vision: Partial or total loss of vision, weakness of eye muscles and double vision (diplopia), blurred vision, problems judging distance, involuntary eye movements (nystagmus), intolerance of light (photophobia)

Hearing: Decrease or loss of hearing, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), increased sensitivity to sounds

Dependent behaviors: Emotional ability, Lack of motivation, Irritability, Aggression, Depression, Disinhibition, Denial/lack of awareness

Police mistakenly identify Scott as the suspect they had a warrant for, which would cause them to be on guard, leading to a quick trigger pull when they suspect he has a gun and is a criminal. If Scott has a TBI there is no telling how he would have reacted without seeing the videos. In his wife's video you don't hear him yelling at the officers.

Now what about the gun? I don't think it was planted. Some of the angles does look like gloves that are dropped. What appears to be a gun is next to the cop in red's left foot, he is marking it. Shrugs... People are missing the point though. If you believe in the 2nd Amendment you should agree that he did not deserve to die for having a gun. You can resist arrest, up to the point of killing an officer, if you are being arrested unlawfully. Granted the results do not usually work out in your favor.

People have said "but what about his record"? It shouldn't matter. Does his record mean he deserved to die? Anyone with a record like his then should have a bullet put in them?

Police are a problem. They enforce the laws and regulations that enslave everyone and there is no law too small that the government will not kill you over. Police are protected and are held to lower standards that anyone else. No victim no crime. Besides Scott, who else is a victim in this situation?

Police released the videos! Watch the dashcam video. Does it look like Scott pointed anything at anything before being shot? I don't think so. Police killed an innocent man.

Jeffrey, I loved your post.

I hope to see more of you 'round steemit! I mean seriously, this was fantastic-- I thought you were going to take the racist prick angle for a moment, and instead you took the "no, we're allowed to have guns, so it wouldn't matter if he did have one" angle.

Hells yeah.

Thanks! Check out some of my other stuff. I prefer to stick with facts and side with whoever is having their rights violated. I updated the article, police released the videos.

good points, and you're spot on with the "lower" standards bit. Sickening, because cops should be held to a higher standard.

Agreed. Thanks!
