Mark Zuckerberg said yesterday in a call that any user who had email or phone number search enabled should "assume" their profile has been scraped.

"We've seen some scraping"
Mark Zuckerberg - Facebook Chief Asshole

Mark goes on to say, "I would assume if you had that setting turned on that someone at some point has access to your public information in some way"

There never was a question Facebook will dramatically decrease your privacy on the Internet and with your own government, but it is becoming clear it is a lot worse than previous expected. It is estimated over 87 million Facebooks have had their data leaked to Cambridge Analytica, up from previous estimate of around 50 million.

"Until today, people could enter another person's phone number or email address into Facebook search to help find them. This has been especially useful for finding your friends in languages which take more effort to type out a full name, or where many people have the same name. In Bangladesh, for example, this feature makes up 7% of all searches. However, malicious actors have also abused these features to scrape public profile information by submitting phone numbers or email addresses they already have through search and account recovery. Given the scale and sophistication of the activity we've seen, we believe most people on Facebook could have had their public profile scraped in this way. So we have now disabled this feature. We're also making changes to account recovery to reduce the risk of scraping as well."

Tell us something we don't know Mark Suckerberg, I deleted my Facebook account years ago, back in 2014 when it started to be clear that they rather sell their users data than to serve the users and provide a good service, i think i made the call when they started to feed you with so many ads that you could no longer look to the sides and not see some form of advertisement.

I encourage everyone to delete their Facebook account and find other ways to keep in contact with the people you talk over there.... remember to backup your photos!

This was really necessary but if it’s possible to also delete account permanently that will be Democratic

I had invested my time in facebook and derived nothing.....just joined steemit and I am falling in love with steemit already... Thanks for the information hope others will learn

a very useful post, thank you for sharing, you are incredible @ipromote

We'll all be eventually enslaved by Skynet, why worry about privacy

It does make me delete it to provide more privacy on the internet. We need to bring in more people to Steemit though. Would love to see Steemit make a better sign up process.

We have make an App for Steemit, which makes posting more comfortable for everyone and we will not stop there. Hoping for your support @ipromote!

Yesterday Facebook updated its "Product & Business Terms."

Presumably in preparation for next week's sweaty mess of a hearing so Zuckwit can point to "measures" they've taken to ensure user privacy.

Cannot wait to watch this Zuckwit produce 1000 memes as his deceit finally catches up with him :)

Thanks for the information,, @ipromote I had been addicted to facebook since 2014.

@ipromote is in @kaixin's blacklist forever! 屏蔽他!
