DEA Pays Millions For Volunteers To Search Your Luggage

DEA Paid Out $237 Million Over 5 years To Volunteers

The DEA paid AMTRAK, airline, and parcel employees to go through baggages and personal packages to gather evidence for a hefty reward. Some of these "volunteers" were paid $600k-$1 Million dollars for their findings. It was reported that some even received health insurance. Of course, this is a blatant 4th Amendment violation, and we all know the 3 letter agencies are well above the law.

So what did the DEA get for the $237 Million? That was the question asked by House Oversight Committee chairman Jason Chaffetz. The DEA Chief of Inspection, Rob Patterson, then pleaded the fifth. Just kidding, he simply said he didn't know.

Come on man. Not even a sippy cup or coloring book? This will definitely be "fakenews".

Think of all the good that could have been done with the money. The "war on drugs" is simply ridiculous and a total waste of taxpayer's money

yes, i agree. a total waste

They do not work for the DEA. They volunteer to go through your stuff, for a nice reward.

Thats scary and theses are all domestic companies

Yes, just regular people snooping through your stuff.

Do they search every parcel or just ones with names and addresses the dea is interested in

I think it was random. The article did not state if it was only persons of interest or suspicious individuals. These volunteers were not under any DEA supervision, so they picked who they would search.

these people have absolutely no concept of rights. they lack the ability to be legally competent, and should be fired, rounded up and permanently incarcerated before they harm someone physically, if they haven't already.

DEA's corporate charter needs to be revoked. DEA is protecting the drug trade which is one of the pillars of triangular trade:

yeah man..they are bad news. My friend @barrycooper , can tell you just how bad.
