Buddhist Spiritual Leader and Noble Laureate for Peace, His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama is scheduled to arrive Leh on Tuesday from New Delhi for a 19-day programme in Leh including Yarcho Chenmo at Sumoor in Nubra.
Religious and political leaders of Leh will receive the spiritual leader at KBR Airport Leh and a rousing traditional reception has also been planned in honour of the Dalai Lama.
From the Leh Airport, The Dalai Lama will be taken in a motorcade to his official residence at Jivetsal where the spiritual leader is expected to interact with Ladakhi political, religious and social leaders.
After a few days of rest in Leh, a grand celebration of the 83rd birthday of The Dalai Lama is scheduled to take place at Jivetsal on the 6th July in his presence. The Dalai Lama is also schedule to participate in the Yarcho Chenmo- the annual ‘Summer Buddhist Council’ of philosophical debate and discussion – from July 18 to 20 at Samstanling Gonpa Sumoor in Nubra besides teachings in Nubra as well as in Leh at Jivetsal teaching ground.
