in #news8 years ago

I will keep this short so it gets out fast but informative enough for people to understand yet to be shared fast.

CloudFlare had a bug for months which allowed attackers to possibly read passwords and all data sent betwen server and their CDN.

This exploit is called Cloudbleed so this is what you can look for online right now.

You should change passwords on all exchanges using CF ie: Bitfinex, Bitstamp, Coinbase

and also most media US sites like Reddit or Linkedin.

Why we need decentralized systems? This would be one reason.

What is the true risk of the leak? Can anyone tell me exactly what percentage of sensitive data has actually leaked? Is it all out there 100% or is it some ridiculously small insignificant percentage?

Unknown. Significant amounts, but that could still be a tiny fraction of total.
