NYTimes: Will Cash Disappear?

"Cash is unlikely to go away soon. Coins and paper currency remain the most popular ways to pay for things in most countries. But longer term, cash appears to be in a losing battle with electronic payment methods."

There is no doubt eventually no one will be using cash, its only a matter of time before everything is exchanged digitally. Some parts of the world will be digital sooner than others and its tough to say when the change will happen (5, 10, 20 , 100 yrs from now) but I think it will happen quickly.
