First Steps in California Secession Campaign Begins
It will be interesting to see how far this campaign goes. Many in California want to secede from the United States specifically because of who was elected President. Obviously, I don't think Congress would ever approve this, but I think they will garner enough signatures to put the initiative on the ballot in 2018. I remember when some in Texas floated the idea of that state seceding from the U.S. many were vehemently against it. Now those same people want California to secede. Oh how times have changed.

California has a very large economy, but also has over $1 trillion in debt (this includes bonds, loans, unfunded pension obligations, other unfunded post-employment benefits) and they recently tried to pass a universal healthcare measure that failed. This is definitely something that needs to be watched.
If California secedes, we would have to build a wall around it...LOL

Very interesting to read unfortunately I think the US government would declare marshal law and destroy who ever would be makeng these radical changes in public.
I agree. This will never be allowed to happen. This country went to war because of states wanting to secede. I think it will be mostly symbolic if it happens.
