Alleged dark web drug baron cuffed – after he flew to US for World Beard Championships

United States police arrested suspected dark net drug kingpin late last month while he was traveling from his base in France into the United States of America with this year's yearly World Beard and Mustache Championships.

Gal Vallerius, a 38-year-old French national, was traveling to Austin, Texas, for its contest but was captured by U.S. government on August 31 upon landing in Atlanta International Airport to a supply complaint filed in Miami federal court, The Miami Herald reported Tuesday.

Authorities affirmed Vallerius' individuality to the internet moniker "OxyMonster," that was formerly utilised to promote drugs on a illegal underground shadowy web marketplace called Dream Market by looking his laptop which the brown-beard contestant taken with him.

Vallerius has been supposed of publicly selling and advertising drugs such as cocaine, LSD, methamphetamine, fentanyl and oxycodone, on Fantasy Market between May 2015 and August 2017.

After hunting his notebook, officials affirmed Vallerius' log-in credential for Dream Marketplace and discovered about $500,000 value of "bitcoins"--that the money used to finish the trades--and also a PGP encryption crucial entitled OxyMonster.

Vallerius' notebook also included the Tor browser, allowing users hide their true online protocol (IP) addresses, letting them run anonymously on the community.

According to the Miami Herald, the defendant is currently predicted to be moved from Atlanta to Miami, where he is going to be facing a new conspiracy indictment that carries up to life in federal prison.
