Space Corps: US space army
US lawmakers have just introduced a law project to create a new branch within the US military. It would be a Space Corps, entirely dedicated to the defense of the national territory coming from elsewhere.
While the US Army already had its special unit, the Space Aggressors, to precisely prepare US air forced soldiers for potential space conflicts, this new Space Corps will have to be a truly independent branch under the leadership of the Command Civilian secretary of the United States Air Force. It should thus regain control of the secret space missions underway, currently managed by the Air Force.
In any case, it will take some time for the project to be validated and applied. After a first vote by the armed forces committee, it should go to the Senate and the white House before being ratified by the president. If all this happens without problem, Space Corps could see the light as of January 1, 2019.

I wish we didn't have to focus on defense so much but in the world we live in we need these measures for protection and posturing.
I guess we have always lived in this kind of world since day 1. Human being is like this unfortunathly.
I saw a recent interview of an astronaut, he said that we have only one earth and we should take care of the planet and not focusing on war.
I wish political were that simple ^^
