Why are North Koreans so advanced with Weapons?

in #news6 years ago

North Korea has been in the news a lot lately, it has managed to produce first of all nuclear weapons, and then an ICBM capability that makes it possible to reach targets up to 10,000 kms away, enough to scare anyone. And I just read this piece on the Guardian:

Study reveals North Korean cyber-espionage has reached new heights

Among other things it says:

"An increasingly sophisticated North Korean cyber-espionage unit is using its skills to widen spying operations to aerospace and defence industries, a new study has revealed."

OK, so what we are seeing is a country that is all the time derided as backward, not open to western ideas or technology, a country were its people, excepting the elites, have a really rough time even feeding themselves, in fact starvation is a yearly threat, well this solitary country, with practically no ties to the outside world, poor, without much access to higher education and state of the art science available elsewhere, somehow has been able to match the technology that countries spend billions to develop and these Koreans make it work.

Somehow I can't wrap my mind around that, OK I could see them trying to copy western technology but failing miserably because they don't have the education, the money or the resources to do it. So I think one of the ways that they have achieved it is by buying the technology from corrupt people in the west, and this means the weapons and software industries, if this is so wouldn't that make these industries traitors? I mean selling technology that could disrupt the world sure sounds like treason to me. The other possibility that I see, is that it is all hype and North Korea has nothing, but I think the first theory is probably the correct one. I have a third theory, perhaps they have a higher rate of geniuses than other countries, people who are capable of doing things that others can't, I don't buy this either.

I have always had a doubt about the story that during WWII the US was able to get the German team that was able to develop the atomic weapon, but at the same time the Russians were also able to get enough German scientists to be able to produce their own nuclear bomb. Was this coincidence or was it really planned that way? I wouldn't put it past the elites to think of this, have two sides with atomic weapons and start a weapons race that would make them trillions, and at the same time keep the population quiet because nuclear weapons scared the shit out of them. It also had the added benefit of creating bogey men, communists in the west, and capitalists behind the Iron Curtain.

So, yes I am agreeing with the people who say that we are in a media blackout where we are sold whatever the powerful want us to believe.

There's lots of good news outlets that are not necessarily corrupted. I like: @antimedia here on Steemit.
On N. Korea, I think you might give them to much credit. That 10,000 is the 'long' range mark for ICBMs. The US and USSR reached that mark in the 60's.

On Cyber-attack they probably bought those equipments in the black markets. You just have to pay a little extra for the don't ask deal.
A large portion of their food is donated from S. Korea. As soon as that stops, they may starve.

I think that all this "news" about North Korea is in fact fake news.

I think you hit the point here:

OK, so what we are seeing is a country that is all the time derided as backward, not open to western ideas or technology, a country were its people, excepting the elites, have a really rough time even feeding themselves, in fact starvation is a yearly threat, well this solitary country, with practically no ties to the outside world, poor, without much access to higher education and state of the art science available elsewhere, somehow has been able to match the technology that countries spend billions to develop and these Koreans make it work.

This is complete craziness of course: either they have the tech or they don't.
Probably all this anti North Korean propaganda is just a way the United States tries to scare the shit out of "western" countries and to force them to invest in more weapons!

Allways wonder what the US is doing all over the world; always making war somewhere, far away from their own land.
