8 Dead, 30 Injured in Wal-Mart Parking Lot

Earlier this morning in San Antonio, police and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a call of "multiple people in the trailer" of a trucked parked in a Wall-Mart lot. Upon arrival, they found up to 40 individuals, 8 of them dead, 17 with life threatening injury and 13 with less serious conditions requiring treatment, likely dehydration and heat exhaustion.

An MCI or Mass Casualty Incident was declared, which centralizes the Incident Command and coordinates the rescue and investigative operations between agencies. The police are treating it as a human trafficking case and the driver was detained. ICE and DHS are investigating as well as local law enforcement.
