Makar Sankranti Festival In India
Today is a Makar Sankranti festival in India when sun enters in Capricorn sign or Makar Rashi then Sun becomes Uttarayan so that is why this festival is called Makar Sankranti.
When sun becomes Uttarayan or enter in a Capricorn sign then Sun increases its hotness or heat and winter or cold as in the atmosphere become to reduce.Summer season also get started.
This Makar Sankranti is auspicious and Ardh Kumbh is also taking place in Allahabad or Prayagraj City of Uttar Pradesh state of India. During Makar Sankranti people take bath in Ganges river.
They donate rice, pulses, new cloth and other items to poor people and brahmins. In many states especially in Gujarat Kite Festival or kite lying take place. People from all corner of the world come to fly kite.
