RE: US Negotiating Peace With Taliban

in #news6 years ago

And so, in the midst of this mess, it seems the US is doing what it woulda/coulda/shoulda done a very, very long time ago: meet with the Taliban.

Funny how Donald Trump is able to achieve through diplomacy what all his predecessors could not with force and not talking to our opponents.

Afghanistan war is an anachronism at this point, we went there at the time because they had one of only two large lithium deposits there and we needed to control it, in the meantime we have found a massive domestic deposit, so we can get all our lithium domestically and we no longer need heroin thanks to Chinese fentanyl so Afghanistan is pretty much useless to us now, hopefully Trump can extract us from there.

Don't think you can give Trump much credit here. The US is going bankrupt and it was only a matter of time. I bet this would have happened no matter who was in the WH. It's hard to keep this up and the ones running the show know this. That is why they have increased aid to their country and will suck everything up while they can before the shit hits the fan. Kinda like that giant sucking sound Ross Perot talked about. It's happening, its just with foreign aid and spending. It's all going to one place.

foreign aid, which mostly consists of giving weapons to out allies, is s lot cheaper than the weapons we buy for ourselves. And all the weapons we give them are made in the US so that stimulates our economy.

What a ridiculous non-sequitur. I suspect you actually believe it.

oh, what percentage of the federal budget is foreign aid?
