Frack fluid cannot be cleaned and reused for any purpose because it, and the drilling mud, become radio-active once they have passed through the shale, especially on the sites where the Halliburton depleted uranium charges are used to perforate the pipes.
Also, the disturbance of the shale strata causes gas to migrate away from the wells. We call that fugitive gas and it makes its way via fissures and faults to the aquifers. Eventually it arrives at the surface where it kills wildlife and livestock on farms. It also affects human health.
The methane and radon locked in shale is highly toxic especially when flared and burnt - even when it reaches the home.
Radon does not burn, it is released as a carcinogen powder into the atmosphere.
All wells leak over time.
All of them!
Worst news of all is that the depleted wells may be used to store radioactive and other undesirable man made toxins since the British gov passed the Infrastructure Bill (2015) which carries a clause permitting "any substance" to be left in the bore hole.
Further - staff risk early demise due to continuous handling of toxins.
Not least of our concern is the millions of gallons of fresh water that is extracted from the water cycle and lost in this process. Less than 40% is recovered from the wells.
Often, a lot less in fact.
Truck movements on narrow country lanes, "man camps" with overpaid, oversexed ego-maniacs who think that they are national heroes and exude entitlement when they throw their weight around the local hitherto quiet country villages. Not only all that but 60% of England has been granted PEDL licences. That is one mighty industrialisation of our rural spaces and our food producing farmlands!
